Norelco suggest to charge the battery for 12 hours before first use. The charge indicator lights when charging and after an hour or so start to blink, informing that we are ready to shave. Li-ion battery not only charge quick, but also manage to last more then two weeks. Claimed 17 days can be easily expanded to one month if not used everyday!
About the shave – it really is close and smooth. No problems with skin irritation either. It’s definitely not like after normal razor but almost. Shaver itself is not too heavy and amazingly quiet. I bet I wouldn’t woke up my girlfriend by shaving in bedroom. Cleaning is easy – just run it under cold or warm water and it’s clean. From other users I know that blades last about one year when normally used. It depend mainly how hard the hairs are. If it’s “young” beard and not shaved everyday, then 2 years are nothing amazing.

Norelco 1290x is high-end top-shelf model. It’s great designed piece of art! 3D in next step forward from Norelco 2-D flexing shavers. The main difference is amount, degree and pressure of flexing of the heads. It combines everything what’s best in Nivea wet shavers and SpeedXL series.
The charging was reduced from 90 to 60 minutes and the quick charge for 5min gives about 3 minutes of shaving, which is enough for quick shave.
